The Clean Water Network (CWN) is a coalition of more than 1,200 public interest organizations across the country, representing more than 5 million people, working together to strengthen and implement federal clean water and wetlands policy. It is the largest national coalition working to defend and strengthen the federal Clean Water Act. Members in the Network receive monthly news bulletins, legislative alerts, and educational materials. The Network also hosts events, trainings and regional workshops on topics of interest to the membership.

Recent CWRA activities have included a U.S. House Lobby day on February 13th, a national call-in day on March 5th which generated hundreds of calls on Capitol Hill and a U.S. Senate lobby day on March 12th. NEWSFLASH! The U.S. House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee held a hearing on the Clean Water Restoration Act (H.R. 2421) on April 16th. This eleven hour hearing was presided over by Chairman James Oberstar (MN). Twenty-three witnesses and dozens of Committee members testified at the marathon hearing. Witnesses at the hearing included representatives from the EPA, Army Corps of Engineers, USDA, Justice Department, Farm Bureau, Mining industry, state and local governments, environmental organizations and academic institutions. On April 9th, the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, presided over by Chairwoman Barbara Boxer (CA), also held a hearing on the Clean Water Restoration Act (S. 1870).
